BLOOMING MARVELLOUS Stephen Wicks and Mark Welford were principal dancers with both Sadler’s Wells and the Royal Ballet. When they hung up their shoes they retrained in Floral Display. Before long they had reached the pinnacle of their new careers and their Covent Garden shop Bloomsbury is considered to be at the cutting edge of floral design. Venues dressed by the team include The Banqueting Hall at St. James Palace and The Orangery at Kensington Palace. Television appearances include demonstrations on Change That and The Eleventh Hour. Now, armed with flowers, foliage, display materials and all their theatrical skills, they are back on stage with Blooming Marvellous. Yes, flowers can be entertaining, as this highly original stage presentation shows. While Mark and Stephen create the dazzling displays which have made them so sought
after, they relate stories of their experiences and the people they have met during
their time in the World of Ballet. Soon the stage is full of colour. With their
use of Frames and imaginative lighting Mark and Stephen’s background in grand- The Question and Answer section may reveal a few “Tricks of the Trade” and there
are plenty of laughs when, armed with a stopwatch, it’s “Gameshow” time when members
of the audience are invited to try their hand at floral arrangement - This is a colourful, amusing, and thoroughly delightful show. | |
